How to Set Up Trust Wallet
To buy and store Metacade tokens, you must have a top-rated, secured wallet that can connect to the Ethereum network.
If you are buying $MCADE on your smartphone, we recommend using Trust Wallet as it has a simple interface that is easy to navigate, secure and offers direct access to decentralized exchanges like Uniswap.
If you're completely new to Trust Wallet and need some guidance in setting up - this beginner's guide is for you.
Quick Overview of How to Set Up Trust Wallet
Here's a snapshot overview of how to set up Trust Wallet on your phone so that you can safely buy and store Metacade tokens.
Step 1
Download Official Trust Wallet App - Trust Wallet is a mobile wallet app backed by the Binance exchange. You can obtain the app via Play Store and App Store - or access the download link on the Binance website.
Step 2
Create Wallet - You will now be asked if you already have a Trust Wallet or if you wish to create a new one. Click the 'Create a Wallet' button to create a new one.
Step 3
Backup Passphrase - Carefully note down your 12-word backup passphrase. Next, you must manually type the 12 words in the correct sequence so that Trust Wallet knows you have recorded the backup passphrase correctly. If your phone is lost or stolen, the only way for you to regain access to your Trust Wallet funds will be by entering this backup passphrase.
Step 4
Add Metacade Token - Now that Trust Wallet is set up on your mobile device, you can add Metacade tokens. Do this by clicking the “+” icon on top-right of the screen, followed by 'Add Custom Token' at the very bottom of the list. Your network will be selected as 'Ethereum' by default.
Step 5
Paste Metacade Contract Address: Paste your $MCADE token contract address found on your Metacade deposit page so that the Trust Wallet can locate your account. Double-check the contract address pasted. We recommend verifying your $MCADE contract address using the official Metacade Telegram group. MCADE token address:0xed328E9C1179a30ddC1E7595E036AEd8760C22aF
The blank fields will now populate with the correct contract specifics for Metacade - such as the name, symbol, and number of decimals.
That's it. You have now successfully set up a Trust Wallet. You can connect your Trust Wallet directly to Uniswap and buy/store your Metacade tokens through a single app.
Tips on How to Keep Your Trust Wallet Safe
Once you have added $MCADE tokens to your Trust Wallet, it is your responsibility to keep them safe. Online cybercriminals are getting smarter with time, increasing the vulnerability of digital currency wallets’ security.
The below tips will guide you on how to keep your Trust Wallet and Metacade tokens safe.
Tip 1: Set Up a Strong Screen Lock Password
Setting up a strong screen lock password on the mobile device where your Trust Wallet app is located is crucial. We can't stress this enough. This will act as the first line of defense should somebody have access to your device.
This is especially important if your phone is lost or stolen, as the person in possession of the device would need to know your screen lock password before they can even attempt to access your Trust Wallet app.
Tip 2: Use a Complex PIN Thats Hard To Crack
Never use a generic password like '0000' or '1234' for your Trust Wallet app. In doing so, you can be sure that if somebody gets hold of your device and subsequently bypasses your screen lock password - they will have a good chance of accessing your Trust Wallet account.
Trust Wallet allows you to create a PIN between 4-6 digits during the initial setup procedure. To maximize security, it's best to choose a 6-digit PIN.
Tip 3: Avoid Clicking Links
One of the easy ways for cybercriminals to hack digital currency wallets remotely is via malware. A common way to achieve this is when you unwittingly click on a malicious link created by the bad actor.
When this happens, the hacker can remotely access your Trust Wallet and steal your digital assets.
Therefore, you must avoid clicking on suspicious links posted by an unverified source.
Tip 4: Metacade Admin Will Never Message You First
Leading on from the above tip, bad actors via the Telegram app will commonly attempt to deceive people into thinking that they are speaking with the official Metacade admin.
In many cases, this will be achieved by sending a direct message to Metacade token holders - pretending to be a member of the admin team.
Make no mistake about it - no official member of the Metacade team will ever send you a direct message first. If you receive one, block and report those Telegram accounts.
Tip 5: Never Share Your 12-Word Backup Passphrase
We mentioned earlier that your unique 12-word backup passphrase represents your Trust Wallet private key. If somebody has access to these 12 words in the correct order - they can access your Trust Wallet account remotely. In turn, they'll be able to withdraw your entire balance of digital assets.
Therefore, it is crucial to not share your Trust Wallet backup passphrase with anybody - under any circumstance.
Make no mistake about it - no official member of the Metacade team will ever send you a direct message first. If you receive one, block and report those Telegram accounts.
